Wikipedia : This day (November 15, 1957), in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, is born Kevin Eubanks, an American jazz guitarist and composer.
Kevin Eubanks : Kevin was first drawn into music listening to the energetic sounds of fusion and progressive rock, then went on to study at Berklee. He has played with icons including McCoy Tyner, Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Dave Holland and Ron Carter.
@allmusic : In 1992, he joined bandleader Branford Marsalis on the Tonight Show with Jay Leno, and in 1995, Eubanks took over the band when Marsalis left. His friendly chemistry and humorous repartee with Leno quickly established the guitarist as a household name.
@last.fm : He composed the Tonight Show’s closing theme music, “Kevin’s Country”, in 1992. He played with Art Blakey, Roy Haynes, Slide Hampton, and Sam Rivers before starting to lead his own groups in 1983. Like his brother Robin Eubanks, a jazz trombonist, he has played on records with Dave Holland.
