I saw Portishead live once. At one point between songs Geoff Barrow was milling around on stage adjusting equipment and a woman in the crowd screamed out, “PORTISHEAD IS BETTER THAN SEX”. Barrow heard it and glanced out at the crowd, smirked at the idea and shook his head at whoever shouted out. I’m still not quite sure who was in the right there. […]
