On TV today, Nat King Cole’s last show (1957)

December 17, 1957 – NBC airs the last episode of “The Nat King Cole Show” with Billy Eckstine guesting. Nat himself has decided to stop the show for lack of sponsors. “Madison Avenue is afraid of the dark” he said.
