You know how it is, you get an idea stuck in your head and all the evidence in the world wont shift it. When I say you, I, of course, mean meand the idea that I had that was after Miles Smiles each one of Davis’s studio albums became less interesting in turn before the jump back with In a Silent Way – the two albums recorded in 1968, Miles In the Sky and Filles de Kilimanjaro, being little more than transition pieces (for most people they would have been major works, but for Davis they were minor).
